Position Description

We are seeking a Senior Reports Developer (Tableau, Business Objects, or similar) to join our team in Knoxville, TN! This is a Hybrid role!

You will be supporting Data Analysis and Mining on an exciting and dynamic project for a major California client!

While working from our Knoxville Development Center, you’ll help this huge, multi-faceted agency enhance their processes and legacy systems under one unified enterprise solution. By leveraging technologies such as Java and tools such as Tableau in conjunction with our standard methodologies for Service-Oriented Architecture, Master Data Management, Big Data, and Business Process Management, you’ll make a lasting impact by helping our client more effectively and efficiently serve its citizens via modernized channels and technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute in design sessions to design system functionalities
  • Build and maintain system functionality based on approved designs and following project standards
  • Work with business analysts to ensure fidelity to designs
  • Work with architects and senior developers as needed to build and follow standard approaches to design the application
  • Unit test code using project processes and tools
  • Perform Unit Integration Test prior to code being deployed to test environments
  • Perform code reviews and other quality control measures per project standards
  • Collaborate with other developers
  • Diagnostic issues reported by users in production environment
  • Participate in production cutover activities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • 5 Years – Experience constructing customized reports and dashboards in Tableau, Business Objects, or similar tools
  • 5 Years – Experience working with Tableau Prep or similar tools
  • 5 Years – Experience with database structures, theories, principles, and practices

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills

  • Experience developing applications using Java
  • Experience using REST and SOAP services in enterprise applications
  • Experience working on geographically spread teams and interacting with developers, team leads, and product owners every day
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Customer focused
  • Good working understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Database tools, and TFS

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
