Senior Director of Business Development

AcreTrader is seeking an experienced and highly analytical individual to join our growing sales team as the Senior Director of Business Development. This role will define and execute the sales strategy for our new Acres geospatial and brokerage tools. This role will ensure sales strategies align with the overall company goals and will be expected to recruit, hire, enable and mentor results-driven sales leaders. In this role, you will be a key member of the company leadership team sharing the responsibility to meet and exceed revenue targets each quarter.

The ideal candidate is a builder by nature and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty within a fast-paced startup environment. Our company is evolving quickly and this role will provide essential tools and leadership as we develop our processes and grow our sales team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build strategies and tactics, and manage a team to achieve revenue growth

  • Deliver financial and strategic objectives for new customer acquisitions

  • Closely manage sales and renewal pipeline health and development, with clear metrics and accountabilities

  • Work with the marketing department to design print and online promotional materials for the company’s products and services

  • Identify where improvements can be made and develop sales plans and strategies to achieve sales goals

  • Recruit and hire sales staff and develop training programs to create sales excellence

  • Outline, manage and execute strategic quarterly sales budgets and goals

  • Monitor the market and competitive products to provide detailed sales forecasting

  • Review customer activity, anticipate customer needs, and improve customer satisfaction

  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships

Key Competencies/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a sales leadership position

  • 4+ years of experience working in a selling role and with sales technology and CRM software

  • 2+ years of experience in a senior leadership role

  • Experience in B2B, B2C, and account-based selling

  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, CRM best practices, and employee motivation techniques

  • Strong working knowledge of the company’s products, competitive products, and the market

  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

  • Great strategic planning, organizational, and creative thinking skills
