Job Description :

Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is GROWING and actively seeking a Recruiter. The Recruiter will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, partnering with department leaders to determine recruitment needs, evaluating and creating recruitment processes, and recruitment of key leader, provider, and individual contributor positions. For more than 30 years, NHC has delivered quality healthcare to the communities we serve.

Neighborhood Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). FQHCs are required to comply with the governor’s recent mandate requiring hospital and nursing home workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. You will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination if an offer of employment is made. The vaccine mandate applies to all personnel employed or affiliated with a covered entity, including volunteers and students. Only a limited medical exemption remains for qualifying individuals.


  • Demonstrates NHC’s mission, vision and values and optimizes NHC’s definitions of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice to purposefully manage recruitment efforts
  • Evaluates current recruitment procedures to determine modifications needed for increased efficiency and effectiveness; creates new procedures as needed
  • Partners with department leaders to understand current and future recruitment needs
  • Liaises with Practice Manager, Clinical, Nurse and Operations Leadership on HR related matters to best support a specific site
  • Is a super-user in NHC’s HRIS and applicable systems
  • Tracks defined key metrics to influence and support the organization’s strategic plan
  • Recruits for NHC’s key leader, provider and individual contributor positons
  • Identifies community partners and forges relationships to feed pipelines
  • Oversees the recruitment activity of HR Generalist and HR Generalist II in designing, deploying and optimizing talent campaigns and initiatives
  • Responsible for processes related to new hires/promotions such as Leader Onboarding Checklist and credentialing introduction
  • Regularly reviews workforce diversity metrics and reporting with AVPHR and Director of Equity & Inclusion. Adapts or changes resources as needed to better support the collection of accurate data
  • Manages the implementation of new systems/programs related to recruitment
  • In conjunction with AVPHR, develops new policies or updates policies/procedures as needed
  • Communicates effectively across all health center departments to ensure organizational progress
  • Coordinates meetings using agendas, dashboards and meeting minutes to communicate with the team. Supports the team to ensure positive progress with team’s action items
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinates and reports on partnerships with neighborhood businesses or other institutions that contribute to the organization’s recruitment efforts
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years’ experience in full cycle recruitment
  • Training in public health preferred; FQHC or similar experience preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish preferred
