Chemours is seeking a(n) Process Control Specialist to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Mfg. Technology Manager at our Louisville, KY location.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain and repair site process control systems (e.g. DCS, PLC) and peripherals in order to support production demand for 24/7 chemical processes.
  • Configure process control systems and other process control related equipment based upon guidance from Control System Engineers and Operations to perform manufacturing tasks safely, along with design and implementation of process control change requests related to logic and control strategies.
  • Provide technical assistance to Maintenance and Operation in troubleshooting and incident investigation of process control related issues.
  • Maintain accurate configuration documentation of all process control systems (e.g. Piping &Instrument drawings, Logic diagrams, Slot Assignment, Addressing, etc.)
  • Work with Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians and Operations to ensure successful installation, checkout, periodic testing of interlocks, and startup of the process control portion of projects.
  • Perform backup, patching, installation of approved antivirus updates of all process control systems to meet the Disaster Recovery plan and Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorists compliance requirements.
  • Hands on IT support as needed.

The following is required for this role:

  • Experience in IT/Windows/Server Support & office products
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must work well in both self-managed and team environment.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Have a minimum 2 year associates/technical college degree in computer programming or IT systems.
  • Have completed at least four years applicable industrial experience in electrical/instrumentation, process control or computer programming/support.
  • Experience with Honeywell DCS systems
  • Ability to read and understand control system related documentation such as: P&I drawing, Logic drawing, Electrical drawing, Vendor’s Installation/User manual, etc.
  • Basic Networking skills
  • Basic understand of Chemical Process operations
  • Working knowledge of computer networking (Putty/Cisco)
  • Virtual Machines (ESXI)
  • SQL
  • Programming (VB/VBA)
  • PowerBI
