Manager, Metabolic Engineering and Fermentation job vacancy in Mary Jane’s People – Jobs in New Mexico

Up-and-coming CBD firm that’s changing the industry is growing and looking for a leader for

their metabolic and fermentation group. As the lead for this team, you’ll lead the team to

achieve timely milestones through the various stages of commercialization and be the key

resource for the team for development and guidance on projects, solutions, and prioritization.

Your Background and Experience

Technical Ability

• Well-versed in IP development and management

• Experience with setup and operation of high-performance bioreactors and quantitative

analysis of fermentation data

• High level of competency in understanding experimental procedures performed to assure the

accuracy and quality of results

• Operate using microbiology lab GLP and techniques, and safety protocols

Leadership Ability

• People manager with a strong foundation in biotechnology programs, lab through plant scale,

able to execute the strategic vision as well as provide functional expertise

• Experienced in leading interdisciplinary teams with multiple objectives and skilled at cascading

and role modeling department staff growth and development expectation

Interpersonal Ability

• Self-starter who enjoys working autonomously as well as relationally collaborating with

scientists to make appropriate and timely decisions to meet deadlines on experiments and

projects

• Team player able to build strong interdepartmental relationships at all levels

• Effective communicator – written and verbal

• Critical thinker and problem solver

Experience and Education

• Ph.D. or an advanced degree in microbiology or a related field

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in fermentation

• Minimum of 5 years of people management in a biotech environment
