Junior Systems Administrator

The Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for monitoring and supporting all components desktop technologies., while also being responsible for the operation and maintenance of the hardware and the OS of the Windows-based workstations and servers.

Schedule: Regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, on-call and after hours responsibilities may be required on a rotating basis.

Location: must be local to Chicago, can work remotely but will need to visit Downtown Chicago and Mount Prospect locations periodically

Salary: $45,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually

DAY TO DAY

  • Responsible for Infrastructure Support Tickets and as an escalation resource for the Help Desk Analysts.
  • Create, maintain and revise, as necessary, desktop-related processes, procedures, and documentation on software and hardware deployments, account administration, and helpdesk tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to hardware and software problems. Install, upgrade, repair, and remove hardware and software as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of Windows workstation and laptop images as well as thin client images to be used throughout all sites.
  • Manage VDI images, testing and rollout of new images and application related upgrades or updates.
  • Act as project lead in large-scale enterprise-wide hardware and software rollout/migration projects. Plan the analysis, evaluation, testing, implementation, integration, and migration strategy for deployment
  • Maintain server operating systems and functional differences between operating system vendors and versions.
  • Administer, monitor and maintain system for the Company in all environments

WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS

Must Have:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a role of Systems Administration, Help Desk, or Service Desk environment, supporting at least 500 users
  • Experience with Windows 10, PC imaging and hardware deployment, group policy, workstation setup, remote assistance, Microsoft Active Directory and DNS
  • 1 or more years of experience with Windows 2012R2 or above
  • Experience with Active Directory: DNS/DHCP in a multi-site environment, Creation and administration of group policies, and Role Based Access Control
  • Experience with VMware: Horizon VDI, VDEM and AppVolume
  • Knowledge of Security Standards such as: CIS/DISA, PCI-DSS, SOC, HIPAA

Nice To Have:

  • Some college preferred
  • CompTIA A+, Server+, Security+, or Network +Certification preferred
