StraightUp Solar is seeking a full-time Human Resource Coordinator for its St. Louis, MO office. The Human Resource Coordinator will assist the growing StraightUp Solar Team with recruiting, new hire onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS, and administering StraightUp Solar’s continuing education programs.

We are a turn-key solar PV design & installation firm with 7 in-house installation crews. Our 115 employees in Missouri and Illinois are dedicated exclusively to PV design, installation, operations, and maintenance.

StraightUp Solar has installed more than 2,000 solar projects at businesses, homes, schools, farms, churches and government buildings throughout Missouri and Illinois and has offices in St. Louis, MO and Bloomington, IL. Our team of 115 includes 57 NABCEP Certified and Associate-level credential solar professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll thrive in this job if you’re a good communicator, have proven systems for keeping track of your deliverables and staying organized, while having the ability to adapt and excel in a team environment where your performance is measured by the success of all. This position will focus on recruiting and new hire orientation, but will also include HR administration and other projects. This role could eventually evolve into a hybrid work from home/office role after completion of in-person training.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Screening applicants for both technical skill and alignment with company values
  • Leading first round virtual interviews
  • Completing new hire tasks like background checks and HRIS/database tasks
  • Setting up logistics and scheduling with other trainers
  • Leading orientation for new hires (in person)
  • Tracking progress and completion of tasks to prep new hires for a successful onboarding their first week
  • Attending job fairs and recruiting events in person and virtually
  • Attending HR meetings to gauge the hiring needs of the company
  • Administrative tasks
  • Supporting the HR team with new projects
  • Other Duties as assigned

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with HR activities preferred
  • Minimum Education: Associate’s – Bachelor’s Preferred
  • experience preferred
  • Paycom HRIS experience preferred
  • Ability to establish and manage priorities without direct supervision
  • Comfortable speaking to groups and leading presentations
  • Proactive, self-starter that demonstrates accountability, confidence and poise while juggling numerous tasks and responsibilities
  • Proven planning, organization, and administrative ability under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively, positively, and professionally interact with teammates and with the public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and utilize critical thinking
  • Outstanding communication and follow-up skills
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail for logging, tracking, and communicating
  • Present a consistent positive attitude, flexibility, and exceptional teamwork
  • Adept at technology such as databases, MS office, and Google apps
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Reliable transportation and attendance

Pay Structure: Hourly, paid weekly on Friday

Work Schedule: 5 Days Per Week – Monday – Friday – Normal Business Hours

Salary Range: $46,000 – $52,000 depending on qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year
