INTRODUCTION

The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting flight operations through flight following and associated duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze weather date; evaluate trends along routes and notify flights of adverse weather conditions; maintain surveillance on all flight in progress.
• Prepare flight releases on hour prior to each flight departure operating under FAR 121 domestic, flag and supplemental flight rules; record flight status and any changes of each aircraft on the aircraft schedule log; ensure crew coverage for all flights during shift and next shift; remain on duty until the replacement dispatcher has been fully briefed on all operational flight, aircraft, crewmember or other irregularities.
• Collect and monitor flight and duty times; coordinate scheduling, delay or cancellation of aircraft with Dispatch Manager; process crew check in and after hours crew scheduling and record changes on the master schedule; compute fuel loads as required to ensure on time operations and schedule aircraft accordingly.
• Assist in collection and dissemination of flight/crewmember/aircraft information as directed by the Dispatch Manager; maintain a complete shift report; control and monitor Flight Following information; enter all required pilot and flight information into computer and maintain computer files.
• Serve as positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that is consistent with these principles; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school or equivalent with valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.
• Must maintain familiarity with the use of and information contained in FAR 91, 121, 135 and MEL of each type of aircraft operated, company manual and dispatch policy manual.
• Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with insurable record through Empire’s policy.
• Must adhere to the company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed primarily indoors.
• Involves irregular or rotating hours.
• Some travel required.
• Requires standing, walking, sitting and bending for extended periods of time.
• Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business.
• May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.

PAY & BENEFITS

• This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
• Starting pay for this position is dependent upon experience.
