Job Description
The Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership and administration, ensuring effective operations in planning and overall day-to-day operations, program development, human resources and staff development, business development, and fiscal oversight.

Education and/or Experience
Have at least a master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related field and at least 5 years managerial experience in a mental health setting; or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology,
Counseling, Social Work or a related field and at least 10 years managerial experience in mental health.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license. Clearance following a federal and state background check.
Clearance based on a 3-year motor vehicle abstract assessment, and annually thereafter. An initial tuberculosis screening;Annual tuberculosis screening to be completed only if there has been known exposure or evidence of ongoing TB transmission. Clearance following a Fraud and Abuse Control Information System (F.A.C.I.S) background check.

Must be able to successfully complete required training which includes but is not limited to:
-American Red Cross Adult CPR and First Aid
-Crisis Response Training
-Initial and annual training on Preventing Abuse and Neglect and Reporting
-Initial Infection Control Training and Universal Precautions
-Professional and/or Specialized training as required

Essential Duties

Guides and directs leadership in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization’s services, mission and vision.
Assists the organization in the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives.
Conduct interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; comply with all performance and employee related policies and procedures.
Maintains a sound plan of corporate organization, establishing policies and guides to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession.
Provides feedback and participates in development and modification of the Agency operations and policies.
Utilizes knowledge to ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
Monitor and review incident reports and Quality Assurance results to improve services and make recommendations to current systems and processes. Conduct investigations as assigned into serious incidents which includes allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Monitor all dashboard tasks to include ensuring that facility maintenance checks, fire drills, disaster drills, staff meetings & resident meetings (for residential) are completely monthly.
Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Vice President’s/Chief Executive Officer.
Provides oversight and monitoring of time management systems to ensure proper accounting of time for all assigned personnel.
Completes chart reviews to monitor compliance with standards set forth by regulatory agencies, to include services provided, documentation, and billing.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties including but not limited to the following as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Complete daily duties including but not limited to; review of employee time cards, Agency Dashboard and EHR responsibilities, and phone/e-mail correspondence.
Review of annual contract with Jefferson-Blount-St.Clair Mental Health Authority, and other contracts as needed.
Review and upload monthly data to the Department of Mental Health.
Ensures monthly completion of facility and vehicle inspections.

Supervisor Responsibilities
Manages at least 3 employees; Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units; Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Physical Demands
Must be able to address emergency issues with individuals with the average weight between 100-300 lbs. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
