Job Description :

Position Summary

Ogletree Deakins is currently hiring a SQL and BI Report Developer to join the Firms’ expanding immigration practice. As the SQL and BI Report Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, deploying, and creating new reports for internal and external customers. You will work collaboratively with Software Developers, Business Analysts, other IT staff, and business stakeholders to create, maintain, and support reports as well as design, develop, and support data visualization dashboards.

This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where we have a physical office.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze, identify, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Evaluation, maintenance, and enhancement of existing SQL Queries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally and meets with Business Partners across the organization to gather requirements.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and manage PowerBI/Tableau datasets.
  • Create PowerBI/Tableau dashboards and paginated reports.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint and Smartsheet collaboration tools.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for clients from multiple data sets with tight deadlines.
  • Write queries in SQL database language to pull information directly from database to supplement Visatrax reporting capability.
  • Perform data quality control reviews and data assessments to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Interact with client contacts on a consistent basis.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of data analytics experience required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in SQL. – move up to after Bachelor’s degree
  • Data visualization tools experience is highly preferred, specifically PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
  • Experience with immigration practice and business reporting, analytics, or metrics highly preferred.
  • Excellent competency and ability to write SQL required.
  • Strong attention to detail and maintaining consistent accuracy.
  • Willingness to seek out systemic problems in processes, data entry, and data maintenance, and to address these without direction or guidance.
  • Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities based on urgent requests.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong orientation toward maintenance and upkeep of existing systems.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Data visualization tools experience is highly preferred, specifically PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $69,000 and $85,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for the below staff benefits.

In accordance with New York City’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York City position is between $70,300 and $107,200. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for the below staff benefits.
