Job Description :

This position acts as a compliance officer and back up for the internal auditor for the credit union. Position is required to maintain a knowledge of federal regulations, financial regulations, policies, and guidelines of the credit union. The position is involved as a member of the marketing committee to assist with compliance on member communications and promotions.

Assist with internal audits and quality control reviews according to the internal audit schedule. Report the findings to management monthly. Make recommendations to supervisors when processes need improvement.

Serve as an internal source for compliance with applicable rules and regulation affecting federal credit unions and the services offered by Energy One. Serve as Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer. Schedule and provide annual training for staff on required regulations. Act as support for staff for compliance questions. Use resources available for compliance questions. Act as contact for attorney on items needing legal review. Recommend and assist in implementing any operational changes or notifications to members, to comply with revised regulations.

Conduct member account investigations as needed dealing with possible fraud, identity theft, and suspicious activity, or elder abuse. File Suspicious Activity Reports and/or work with law enforcement as needed. Works with training personnel to keep material up to date with compliance changes.

Work with NCUA Examiners and auditors during their exams and audits.
Coordinate meetings and work assignments with Supervisory Committee. Work with Chairman of Supervisory Committee and President to hire outside auditors as needed. Perform annual SAFE Act audit and other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested.

Marketing duties include reviewing of ads, signage and other marketing materials for compliance. Review and edit for regulatory changes of brochures, disclosures, signs and other marketing materials as needed.

Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience with a bank or credit union.

Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
CUNA Certified Compliance Officer will be a requirement as part of the position. Re-certification will be made available for the employee as required.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $67,000.00 per year
