Job Description :

The Arc of Cape May County is seeking an Accountant to perform account analysis, bank reconciliations, post monthly transactions and review general ledger posting of receipts and disbursements, ensuring all allocations have been properly recorded and documented.

Responsibilities of the Accountant Position:

With great attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness, oversee account analysis, reconciliation, disbursement and documentation of funds.

  • Review weekly the posting of cash receipts and cash disbursements. Review allocations to programs and verify documentation. Follow up with staff as needed to collect needed information, and address inaccuracies;
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts for Arc and CM Housing;
  • Review payroll for correct input of hours and allocation to programs, quickly and thoroughly research and remediate discrepancies;
  • Summarize payroll reports and post to general ledger;
  • Perform monthly closing per review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions;
  • Review monthly budget reports and determine causes of material variances. Proactively identifies trends and develops plans to reduce variances going forward;
  • Prepare draft monthly financial reports for Controller review;
  • Prepare draft quarterly DDD Report of Expenditure for Controller review

1. High School diploma/equivalent and a degree in Accounting;
2. Three (3) years of experience in office environment performing accounting functions;
3. Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills;
4. Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills, strong attention to detail;
5. Experience with Microsoft Office software; and specifically knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
